A woman has been arrested following an alleged stabbing at a Victoria multi-unit temporary housing facility late Saturday morning.

According to the Victoria Police Department, officers were called to the facility, located in the 100-block of Gorge Road East, at around 11 a.m. following reports that at least one person had been bear sprayed.

VicPD says when officers arrived on the scene, they discovered one man had indeed been bear sprayed and also stabbed multiple times.

Officers quickly identified a female suspect and located her inside a suite at the facility, according to the department, which says the woman “briefly barricaded herself” within the unit before surrendering.

The woman was arrested and taken to cells, where she is currently being held, while the male victim transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The department says the incident is under investigation and is asking anyone with information to contact them at 250-995-7645 extension 1 or anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
