The BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) is warning passengers who were on board Air Canada flight 8253 from Vancouver to Nanaimo on Dec. 12 and Air Canada flight 8075 from Victoria to Vancouver on Dec. 14 about potential exposure to the deadly virus.

A handful of Vancouver Island flights have been added to the province’s COVID-19 exposure list.

The affected rows on Air Canada flight 8253 are rows 2-8 while the affected rows on flight 8075 are 17-20.

Air Canada flight 8075 is also a codeshare with American carrier United Airlines and is jointly listed as United Airlines flight 8435.

Both flight 8253 and 8075/UA 8435 were added to the province’s list earlier today.

The BCCDC is also warning those who were onboard Pacific Coastal Airlines flight 108 on Dec. 6. The affected rows on the flight are rows 2-10.

The warnings come after the BCCDC added two flights to the list back on Dec. 17.

Passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and those seated identified are considered to be at a higher risk of exposure due to their proximity to the case, according to the BCCDC.

Coronavirus symptoms include fever, chills, cough or worsening of chronic cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste, runny nose, headache and fatigue.
