Two more flights that recently landed at airports on Vancouver Island have been added to the province’s COVID-19 exposure flight list.
BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) is warning passengers about possible exposure to the coronavirus onboard recent Helijet and Air Canada flights.
Helijet flight 901 — a commercial helicopter flight — from Vancouver to Nanaimo on Dec. 11 and Air Canada/Jazz flight 8069 from Vancouver to Victoria on Dec. 10 have both been added to the province’s COVID-19 exposure list.
The affected rows onboard the Helijet flight were not disclosed — likely because the flight involved a Sikorsky S-76 helicopter, according to Flighraware. Those helicopters, according to Helijet’s website, have a maximum capacity of 12 seats.
Meanwhile, the affected rows onboard Air Canada/Jazz flight 8069 were rows 2 to 8.
Both flights were added to the province’s list earlier today. The additions come one day after the BCCDC an Air Canada flight to the list.
The BCCDC says passengers on a domestic flight with a COVID-19 case should self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days and those seated identified are considered to be at a higher risk of exposure due to their proximity to the case.
Coronavirus symptoms include fever, chills, cough or worsening of chronic cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, loss of sense of smell or taste, runny nose, headache and fatigue.
