Central Saanich PD says an officer issued $983 in fines to an unlicensed motorist caught driving in an uninsured vehicle with the wrong plate and a stolen decal.

A motorist in Central Saanich was hit with a nearly $1,000 fine after police say they the vehicle was displaying the “wrong” licence plate.

The Central Saanich Police Department says an officer issued $983 in fines to a motorist on Dec. 17 after they were spotted driving around with “wrong” licence plate, which was displaying a stolen decal.

The department also says the motorist had no insurance and wasn’t even a licenced driver.

“Needless to say, the vehicle was towed off the road,” Central Saanich Police Department said in a post on Facebook.

The incident happened at around 3:30 p.m. on an undisclosed road.
