Two men have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder, following a serious assault that killed a man in Saanich back in 2018.
Nathan Monsour, 33, and Lee Hart, 38, were arrested and charged on Friday in connection with the assault and later death of Shawn Campbell.
Fourty-one-year-old Campbell was from Langford and suffered serious and life threatening injuries in the 3900 block of Carey Road back in September. He died in hospital five days later.
Campbell left behind his six children, a GoFundMe was launched following the incident. Friends say he was the sole provider to his family.

Neighbour say they saw someone fleeing down the street following the incident.
Police blocked off the street at the time of the incident, and called a K9 unit. They asked witnesses to come forward, and asked for riders of the route 30 B.C. Transit bus travelling on Carey Road at the time of the incident who may have seen what happened to speak to them.
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit has been leading the investigation since 2018. Investigators did not believe there was any risk to the public, as all those associated were known to each other.
