A 37-year-old woman has been arrested in Nanaimo after she allegedly stole a purse from a shopper at a Country Club Mall’s food court last month.
Nanaimo RCMP said the theft was reported on May 2. A video of the incident quickly identified the suspect.
In a media release, RCMP said officers arrested a 37-year-old woman without incident at her home on June 16.
The woman has been released from custody with a promise to appear in Nanaimo Provincial Court on Sept. 13.
RCMP said one of her release conditions is that she is prohibited from going to the Country Club Mall until the court proceedings have been dealt with.
