The Nanaimo RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man who allegedly spat on a Loss Prevention Officer (LPO) at the Woodgrove Shopping Centre.
The incident occurred on Saturday, September 19 at around 4 p.m. after a suspect was confronted for shoplifting at Walmart.
Police were told that the suspect became very confrontational when he was approached by the Loss Prevention Officer. This resulted in the man spitting on the LPO several times before running from the store, according to an RCMP report.
The male suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 30-40 years old, medium build and light coloured hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a brown/green jacket.
Nanaimo RCMP is asking anyone with information on this incident or the identity of this individual to contact the non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file # 2020-34521.
