Campbell River RCMP says a 37-year-old Comox man reported missing last week was found Wednesday afternoon and is deceased.
Police say the death of Daniel ‘Eli’ Gordey is determined to be non-criminal and the file is being handled by the BC Coroners Service.
Gordey was reported missing Friday and was in the Loveland Bay area west of Campbell River and failed to return home.
On Saturday, Gordey’s car was located by a crew in a search and rescue helicopter from 442 Squadron, 19 Wing Comox at the end of a logging spur near the Big Bay Recreation Area.
Police reported last weekend more than 70 volunteers had joined police involved in the search.
