Sixteen hectares of oceanfront property in Merville has been donated to the Comox Valley Regional District to be used as a park.
The donation was finalized in September 2022, after CVRD staff worked with the donor to receive it through the federal government’s Ecological Gifts Program.
Christopher Investments Ltd. made the donation of the oceanfront land in Merville.
“This is an incredibly kind donation that will benefit so many Comox Valley residents and visitors for years to come,” Edwin Grieve, Electoral Area C director said in a news release. “The CVRD would like to thank Christopher Investments Ltd for this very generous gift.”
The exact location of the property is not being released until a proper site management plan can be put in place, according to the CVRD.
