Another school in Victoria has experienced a coronavirus exposure.

Island Health has added Belmont Secondary School — located on Langford Lake Road — to its COVID-19 exposure list.

The potential date of exposure is April 20.

Island Health says that if a parent or guardian sees a notification on its school exposure site, it does not necessarily mean their child has been exposed to COVID-19.

If a parent or guardian does not receive a phone call or letter from public health, a child can continue to attend school, according to Island Health.

An exposure is defined by Island Health as a single person with a lab-confirmed COVID-19 infection who attended school during their infectious period.

Belmont Secondary is now the 10th Island school currently on the health authority’s exposure list. Schools are removed from the list after 14 days without an exposure.
