Environment Canada says residents of east, west and north Vancouver Island should expect strong winds by Wednesday morning.
For the north Island, southeast winds are forecast to gust between 80 and 100 kilometres per hour over exposed coastal sections overnight.
Wind gusts are expected to be 70 to 90 km/h for coastal sections for east and west regions of the Island.
The weather service says winds could cause damage by tossing loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Motorists are also advised of changing road conditions due to high winds.
Winds are anticipated to ease by Wednesday night.
