Beckett, a 32-year-old mountie and mother of two young sons, died after her marked vehicle was struck by a pickup truck early in the morning of April 5, 2016, near the intersection of Peatt Road and Goldstream Avenue.

Despite attempts by paramedics, the officer died a short time later.

Kenneth Jacob Fenton, known as Jake Fenton, pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death and was sentenced to four years in prison last July.

Beckett will be recognized on the Wall of Honour.

“We cannot thank the community enough for the outpouring of support they have given us since Sarah’s death,” West Shore RCMP Cst. Matt Baker said.

“Sarah was killed two years ago but it seems like yesterday for us. This is a chance to give her the honour she deserves.”

The lobby of the West Shore detachment will remain open throughout the day and during business hours for anyone who wishes to view the wall and offer respects.
