The West Shore RCMP Drug & Organized Crime Unit has made a significant bust, seizing an ounce of both fentanyl and methamphetamine as part of an executed search warrant.

After receiving reports from neighbours about suspected drug activity, RCMP launched an investigation and executed a search warrant on the Langford residence, located in the Glen Lake area, back in March.

The warrant was executed at the residence on March 31 and officers seized the fentanyl and methamphetamine — proportions which equate to approximately 200 doses of each drug. In addition to the drugs, approximately $10,000 in stolen tools, $5,000 in cash and brass knuckles were seized.

Police also arrested a suspect as part of the investigation, a 52-year-old man of Langford. Police say that charges will be forwarded for multiple counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drug & Substances Act and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.

“Thank you to the neighbourhood’s keen eye and cooperation which helped progress the investigation to an arrest and removal of drugs off the street”, says Constable Sheldon Ewington with the Drug & Organized Crime Unit at West Shore RCMP.

If anyone has any information or wants to report suspicious activity, please contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264. If it pertains to drug-related information, you can ask to speak with a drug investigator. You can always report anonymously through Crime Stoppers online or via phone at 1-800-222-8477
