West Shore RCMP have released a sketch of a suspect wanted for allegedly wielding a knife during an attempted robbery on the Galloping Goose trail.

Police said at around 1 p.m. Wednesday, on the portion of the trail at the very west end of Rowils Crescent near Glen Lake in Langford, a man was approached by another man who brandished a knife and demanded the victim’s bag.

The victim was not physically harmed and called police. He kept his bag as well. Officers were not able to find the suspect in the area when they responded.

The suspect was last seen running on the boardwalk on Glen Lake. He is described by police as a black man, 30 to 40-years-old, 6’3″ tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie and pants.

Police say a police sketch artist worked with the victim to come up with the sketch.

Anyone with information on the attempted robbery, anyone who knows the suspect or anyone who knows the whereabouts of the suspect is asked not to approach him and call 911 instead. People can also report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
