WATCH: It was made interesting late by the visitors, but the UVic Vikes men’s basketball team took down the Trinity Western University Spartans 71-61 to complete the weekend sweep.
The Vikes stormed out to an early lead, but a second-half push by the Spartans made the game close in the fourth quarter, with the Vikes going cold from the field. UVic was lead by fifth-year guard Jordan Charles, who dropped 22 points for the Vikes.
Meanwhile, the women’s basketball team was not able to overcome their shooting woes, as they lost to the Spartans by a score of 71-62. The Vikes were led in scoring by Ashlyn Day who put up 14 points for the blue and gold.
