WATCH: One of the most decorated swimmers Victoria has ever seen, Hilary Caldwell has called it a career at the age of 27 and will now enjoy the things she never got to during her swimming years.

Hoping to stay active through recreational sports or potentially martial arts, Caldwell will take her first summer off in 12 years to enjoy the beauty of Vancouver Island. A two-time Olympian, winning bronze in the 200m backstroke in the 2016 games, Caldwell also racked up several medals at the Commonwealth Games, Pan-American Games and the World Swim Championships.
