It may be something beer lovers in Victoria have known for years now, but a new list ranks the capital as being among the 30 best beer cities in the world.
Victoria comes in at #17, ahead of Regina at #23, but behind Toronto, the top ranked Canadian city at #11.
Victoria is described as a “unique presence in Canada with a very British pub culture underpinning a hip and crafty beer scene. It’s old world charm meets new world invention.”
Hoyne, Phillips, and Driftwood breweries are all mentioned as must sees for any beer loving visitor.
The West Coast is well represented with San Diego at #19, Portland at #16 and Seattle at #14.
Munich takes bronze, Prague wins silver and Bamberg in Germany is ranked #1.
The rankings are published in an article on the American entertainment and popular culture website Uproxx.
