The Victoria Police Department is currently investigating an incident that took place at Beacon Hill Park on Tuesday morning.
According to a tweet sent out from VicPD at around 7:30 a.m. PT on September 15, patrol officers were on scene at the park responding to an alleged stabbing.
Multiple reports came in at approximately 6 a.m., said police, when a man in the park could be heard yelling for people to call 911.
Officers said they attended an area on the Cook Street side of the park, where unhoused people have been camping.
After locating the victim, police said that the man, who was camping in the park, told officers that he had been stabbed, but “refused to provide additional information.”
The original tweet suggested that a man had been sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the incident.
“Officers are searching the park for the suspect now,” read a statement in the social media post.
