Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps to announce whether she will seek re-election in 2018

All eyes will be on city hall on Monday afternoon to see if Victoria Mayor Lisa Helps will run for a second term in 2018.

Helps said she will be making an announcement about her intentions for the year ahead in her office at Victoria City Hall on Jan. 1 at 1 p.m.

In the 2014 municipal election, Helps defeated two-term Mayor Dean Fortin by just 89 votes. Helps was a councillor at the time.

The next general local elections in British Columbia are scheduled for Oct. 20, 2018.
