Two buildings had to be evacuated after a gas line was ruptured by a construction crew Friday morning in Victoria.
Campbell Construction was working on a condo development on Heywood Avenue near Beacon Hill Park when a one inch gas line was hit shortly after 9 a.m.
Victoria fire Capt. Ian Thom said a strong smell of gas filled the air but a breeze was helping to dissipate the gas quickly.
Fortis announced they had the situation under control and were making repairs around 10:30 a.m.
