A grocery store chain is alerting shoppers about a potential exposure after one of their employees at a store in Victoria recently tested positive for COVID-19.
According to a Nov. 11 information bulletin posted on Sobey’s website, an employee working at the Thrifty Foods on Simcoe Street in Victoria’s James Bay neighbourhood recently became infected with the virus.
The employee’s last day worked was Nov. 6.
Sobey’s, the parent company of Thrifty Foods, does not disclose when employees tested positive, instead, saying that they work with public health to support those who become infected.
“We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety,” reads a statement on Sobey’s website.
