VicPD searching for man who attacked resident at their front door

Victoria police are investigating after a man reportedly attacked someone at their front door when they asked him to leave about one month ago.

The assault occurred just blocks away from VicPD headquarters in the early hours of Feb. 12.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., police say a man was sleeping on the front porch of a person’s home in the 900-block of Caledonia Avenue.

When the resident came out to ask the man to leave, he attacked them.

After the assault, the man picked up a rock and tried to smash in the front door, according to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers.

Police are now asking the public to help identify the man.

He’s described as having a thin build and standing approximately 5’5” tall. He was wearing a tan-coloured jacket and jeans at the time.
