Victoria Police arrested one man, while another is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries following an incident in Centennial Square.

Victoria Police have one man in custody, while another is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries following an incident in Centennial Square Thursday afternoon.

According to the police, they were called to the downtown square just before 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon for a report that two men were fighting with knives.

Authorities said they arrived on scene within minutes of receiving the call and located one of the men who had been involved. Police said that he had suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. The second man had fled the square by the time VicPD arrived, however, officers located him nearby and have reported that they took him into custody without incident.

Upon further investigation, VicPD said that although both men were wielding weapons, one man had a knife while the other possessed a collapsible baton.
