After making it through 10 elimination rounds, Victoria’s Jimbo the Drag Clown has been crowned the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 8.
Throughout the season, Jimbo only faced elimination one time, in episode 10 with only three contestants remaining. When Kandy Muse won the lip sync battle in that episode, she was given the power to eliminate someone and chose to send Jessica Wild home and keep Jimbo in the competition.
That put Kandy Muse and Jimbo up against each other in the finale, where ultimately Jimbo came out on top.
In the season, Jimbo won four out of the 10 episodes, winning the challenge in episodes 2, 4, 5 and 9, and in episode 9 she also won the Lip Sync for Your Legacy contest, granting her the powers to choose who went home.
This was Jimbo’s third time competing in a RuPaul’s Drag Race show. Her first appearance was in the first season of Canada’s Drag Race, where she came in fourth place. She then appeared in RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World placing seventh out of nine contestants.
Jimbo the “drag clown,” 40, is originally from London, Ont., having moved to B.C.’s capital after university to pursue a career as a costume and production designer — before gracing television screens globally.
Reacting to the news that she won, Jimbo could barely contain her excitement.
“Thank you everyone that’s helped me get here, this takes so many people. As you know we have so many people supporting us loving us cheering us on, and this is a lifetime dream come to this moment to be celebrating and representing for all weirdos. Just like you, people that have been told that they can’t do what they want to do whether they shouldn’t do it,” Jimbo said in a video posted to RuPaul’s Drag Race YouTube page.
“Oh my god. I’m in shock. I’m like shaking.”
