Victoria’s Jimbo is in the running to claim the crown and sew her way to success as the only Canadian in the upcoming season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.”

Jimbo the “drag clown,” 40, is originally from London, Ont., having moved to B.C.’s capital after university to pursue a career as a costume and production designer — before gracing television screens globally.

“What’s big, bouncing and may be used as a floatation device? Canada’s drag clown, Jimbo!” states a cast announcement from Paramount+, where the series’ eighth season airs starting Friday, May 12.

“All Stars,” around since 2012, is a spin-off of the original “RuPaul’s Drag Race” and sees 12 past queens compete in mini-challenges, such as a ‘Sewing Challenge,’ as well as maxi-challenges and lip-syncs in hopes of winning a spot in the “Drag Race Hall of Fame” and the $200,000 grand prize.

“This bodacious queen (Jimbo) is stacked — with talent! And after gagworthy seasons on ‘Canada’s Drag Race’ and ‘UK vs. the World,’ she’s ready to bring home the bologna. And a crown!” states the Paramount release.

Jimbo competed in the first season of “Canada’s Drag Race” in 2020 and was eliminated in fourth place, but has since returned as a guest actor and a guest judge in the second and third seasons, respectively. In January 2022, she was on the first season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs the World,” coming in seventh.

Now, Jimbo’s making history as the first-ever Canadian franchise contestant to cross the border and get cast on the American “All Stars,” according to The Drag Series on Instagram.

“I’m ready for my close up…” wrote Jimbo in her own Instagram post, where she uploaded a photo of herself in a pink, fluffy gown to promote the show last Thursday. “I am so excited to finally announce im an All Star baby! Get Ready for A Wild Season!”

Yet, Hollywood hasn’t gone to Jimbo’s head — or wig. After all, she’s a local at heart, having expressed her love for Vancouver Island when speaking with CHEK News back in October 2020.

“I’m so proud to call the Island my home!” she said.
