Police say a man who allegedly swung a baseball bat at multiple people and damaged property in Victoria on Monday has been identified.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 2,  police were called to an apartment building in the 1000-block of Pandora Avenue for a report of a man with a weapon.

A witness told police that a man had attempted to enter a secure courtyard area of the building.

When a resident confronted the man, he allegedly became irate and began swinging a baseball bat at residents of the building.

The suspect reportedly then hit the building multiple times with the baseball bat, and then threw the bat at another person, striking them, before leaving the scene.

Victoria police said the person struck with the bat did not report any physical injuries.

Victoria police said thanks to a number of tips from community members and partner agencies, the suspect was identified. VicPD had originally asked for help in identifying him on Tuesday.

Police said a warrant will be sought for the suspect’s arrest.
