Police in Victoria are searching for a man who allegedly swung a baseball bat at multiple people and damaged some property at a residential building in Victoria.

According to the Victoria Police Department, a man tried to enter a secure courtyard area of a multi-unit residential building in the 1000-block of Pandora Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say when a resident confronted the man, he became “irate” and started swinging a baseball bat at other tenants of the building.

Once he was done swinging the bat at nearby residents, the man allegedly started hitting the building multiple times with the baseball bat and then threw the bat at another person, striking them.

The man then fled the scene.

He is described as a slim-build six-foot-tall male between 30 to 40 years of age with short, shaved hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a large black jacket and brown pants and was carrying a black duffel bag.

Police, meanwhile, say the person struck with the bat did not report any physical injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Victoria Police Department’s non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654, extension 1, or anonymously through Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
