Students at Central Middle School in Victoria have been dismissed early due to sewage issues.

At around 12 p.m., Central Middle School officials were told that none of the toilets could be used and the problem could take a few hours to fix.

The school then called families to get permission to send students home. According to officials, if a parent or guardian could not be reached, the student could remain at school and there would be alternate toilet arrangements.

Greater Victoria School District spokeswoman Lisa McPhail said the district’s facilities department has determined that the drain has been blocked due to debris in the sewer line. Crews are now clearing the blockage.

Classes are expected to be back in session tomorrow.
