Sooke School District’s bus service to Finlayson Arm Road cancelled due to winter weather conditions

The Sooke School District announced Monday afternoon that school bus service to Finlayson Arm Road is cancelled due to winter weather conditions.

Environment Canada’s forecast show flurries in Victoria continuing Monday night with a low of -4 C. The wind chill is expected to be near -11 C.

The district is also reminding drivers to be careful of going to and from schools. Due to winter conditions, roads and sidewalks may be slippery.

Classes in the Cowichan Valley School District, Island Catholic Schools’ Queen of Angels School in Duncan and Queen Margaret’s School in Duncan were all closed Monday due to the snow.

The Southern Gulf Island and most of Vancouver Island are under a special weather statement due to more snow expected on the B.C. south coast this week.
