The search continues for a suspect wanted in connection with an alleged assault that took place at Rutledge Park in Saanich in July.

Saanich Police say a 31-year old woman was walking home through the park at around 11 p.m. on July 18 when a unknown man approached her from behind.

She told police the man didn’t say anything, but wrapped his arms around her upper body.

She kicked her leg back towards him causing him to let go and flee the park towards Cloverdale Avenue.

Police say she stayed in the park until officers, including a K9 team, arrived and searched the area.

The suspect was not found.

He is described as Caucasian, 6’0″ to 6’3″, skinny, with messy hair and scruffy facial hair.

He was wearing dark pants and a Mexican-style knit blanket sweater with black and grey stripes.
