Saanich Police says death of woman found in Rutledge Park not considered suspicious

While the investigation continues after a woman’s body was found in a Saanich park Monday morning, police say the cause of death is not considered suspicious.

Saanich police say the woman’s identity has been confirmed and her family has been notified, saying she was a 62-year-old resident of Saanich.

Authorities say she did not live in close proximity to the park.

Police are investigating her presence in the park and the BC Coroners Service is also trying to determine how the woman died, including where and when.

Both the police and the coroner will not be releasing her identity.

Police are thanking those who tried to help her and who provided information to investigators.
