Police are thanking the public for helping to identify the male suspect in the assault of a BC Transit bus driver Tuesday, which led to his arrest.
Sidney/North Saanich RCMP says the North Saanich man was identified and arrested Tuesday night.
He was released on a promise to appear in court and with conditions, including he is not to be seen on any BC Transit bus.

Officers responded to reports of an assault against a bus driver early Tuesday morning in the area of Lochside Drive and Bakerview Place in North Saanich.
Police discovered the driver suffering from injuries to his face, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
The suspect passenger, who is known to use BC Transit and takes the same route daily, fled on foot with a duffle bag.
Police continue to ask witnesses of the attack, or those who know the suspect, to call Sidney/North Saanich RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
