For the first time in three years, hundreds of business leaders across the Island will come together in Nanaimo at the end of October, to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities they face.

In this week’s segment of Road to Recovery with Douglas Magazine, CHEK’s Hannah Lepine chats with Julie Sperber, the president and CEO of the Vancouver Island Economic Alliance.

The Vancouver Island Economic Alliance (VIEA) is a registered non-profit society that has been the driving force behind regional economic development for the entire Vancouver Island and Gulf Island region.

The annual Economic Summit, produced by the VIEA is an annual gathering of business, community, and government leaders sharing ideas,  networking, and exploring opportunities.

For the last two years, the Economic Summit has been held virtually. Now, for the first time in three years, hundreds of business leaders across the Island will come together in Nanaimo at the end of October, to discuss the unique challenges and opportunities they face.

In this segment, Sperber talks about what delegates can expect looking ahead to this year’s summit and what challenges it will tackle.
