Road to Recovery: Ocean Networks Canada-led Solid Carbon Project and the blue economy

CHEK

In this week’s segment of Road to Recovery with Douglas Magazine, CHEK’s Hannah Lepine chats with Kate Moran, the CEO of Ocean Networks Canada.

Ocean Networks Canada is a world-leading ocean observing facility owned by the University of Victoria and operated by the not-for-profit ONC Society, established in 2007. The data the ONC collects and delivers serves as an essential component of Canada’s ocean-observing science capacity.

As the race to net zero speeds up, businesses and organizations are coming up with ways to mitigate the effects of climate change wherever they can.

An international team of researchers, including the team at ONC, is aiming to turn carbon dioxide (CO2) into rock on the ocean floor.

In this segment, Moran goes over how the ‘Solid Carbon Project’ works and what it aims to achieve.

Road to Recovery is produced in partnership with Douglas Magazine.
