In this week’s segment of Road to Recovery with Douglas Magazine, CHEK’s Jasmine Bala chats with Amelia Warren, CEO of locally-owned family business Epicure.

Epicure, a company that shares meal solutions using real, whole ingredients, has benefitted from focusing their human resources policies on diversity and inclusion.

Warren says they hire newcomers, immigrants, refugees and temporary foreign workers as a way to grow their business, increase their creativity and global fluency, and combat a rising labour shortage at the same time.

Oftentimes these workers aren’t sure which opportunities are out there, Warren explained, and partnering with groups like the Intercultural Association of Victoria has helped her business reach a larger, more diverse candidate pool.

Warren explains in this episode how having an inclusive policy has helped bolster business and offers advice on where to look if a business is hoping to hire more diverse workers.
