A motorcycle rider was airlifted to hospital in Victoria Sunday night after colliding with a car near Qualicum Beach.
It happened around 9 p.m. Sunday on Highway 4 west of Qualicum Beach.
The woman driving the car was turning left off of Jones Road onto Highway 4 when her car collided with the motorcyclist who was travelling westbound on the highway.
Police say the motorcyclist’s injuries are serious. BC Ambulance also transported the woman to the hospital by ground.
Traffic was diverted around the crash for more than five hours while an RCMP traffic analyst examined the scene.
