RCMP investigating into fatal single-vehicle crash in Langford

West Shore RCMP is investigating into a single-vehicle crash in Langford that resulted in the death of a 60-year-old man.

In a police report issued on Tuesday, RCMP stated that the incident took place on Monday, Dec. 7 at approximately 9:30 a.m.

The single-vehicle crash occurred near Bellamy Rd and Gourman Pl in Langford.

According to police, officers have determined a blue 2010 Honda CRV was travelling on Bellamy Rd when it went veered off course and into the ditch, colliding with a tree.

The driver, a 60-year-old man, was the only occupant in the vehicle during the crash.

Police say that firefighters with Langford Fire and Rescue extracted the man from the vehicle, finding him to have suffered signficant injuries as a result of the collision.

He was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services, however, he has since succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation,” said Cst. Nancy Saggar, Media Relations Officer, West Shore RCMP. “Police and BC Coroners Service are conducting parallel investigations to determine all the facts, with no further information to be released at this time.
