WATCH: A strong low-pressure system is heading for the south coast of British Columbia.

That will bring wind and rain across Vancouver Island, with the northern tip of the island and the west coast hardest hit.

The northern tip of the island can expect southeast winds to 30 km/h except 60 over exposed coastal sections, and from 10 to 20 mm. of rain.

On the west coast, a Heavy Rainfall Warning has been issued.

Rainfall exceeding 100 millimetres is forecast for this region through Wednesday night and will ease to showers on Thursday.

Southeast winds on the westcoast of 30 to 50 km/h will increase to 50 to 70 near noon Wednesday.
