Port Alberni RCMP are looking for the public’s help identifying the driver of brown Nissan pickup truck involved in two separate incidents on Saturday.

Officers were called to the parking lot of Tyler’s No Frills store on Johnson Road after reports of a fight at 1:45 p.m.

A witness says two men were fighting and that one of them broke the window of a grey Honda car that was parked in the lot.

The man then drove away in the brown Nissan pickup with a boat inside the bed of the truck.

Then at 8:15 p.m., the same truck was involved in a serious collision on River Road.

The driver fled the scene and has not been identified or located.

Police believe that someone who watched the fight at No Frills took a cell phone picture of the incident that could help police identify the suspect.

Anyone with any information about either of the two incidents is asked to call Port Alberni RCMP at 250-723-2424 or Alberni Valley Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
