A piece of playground equipment has been allegedly stolen from Parksville’s Community Park & Lions Venture Land.

The City of Parksville says they discovered it was stolen Tuesday morning from the 100-block of Beachside Drive, and has reported it to the RCMP.

It would cost around $1,200 to replace the bouncing turtle, which the city says has been there since the park opened around 30 years ago.

“It’s disappointing,” said Deb Tardiff, manager of communications for the City of Parksville. “If you see it out there please let us know.”

The Lions club opened the playground in partnership with the city in the late 80’s and is in charge of fundraising for new and replacement equipment.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact the City of Parksville at 250 248-6144
