The Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be flying over Nanaimo’s harbour Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
The acrobatic flight team will perform for 45 minutes and those wishing to hear commentary during the show can tune into 98.7 FM.
The show will be centered above and in front of the boat basin by the historic Bastion. Crowds should have a good vantage point anywhere along the waterfront between the Nanaimo Yacht Club and Cameron Island.
“I can’t tell you how excited we are that the Snowbirds are back this year to perform for Nanaimo! Please don’t forget to contribute generously to the C.H.I.L.D Foundation. The Snowbird Team put an incredible amount of effort into their fundraising for children with intestinal and liver disorders and would be grateful for your support!” said Nanaimo Mayor Bill McKay in a statement.
The public is encouraged to arrive early to find parking and a good vantage point.
A video posted to the team’s Facebook shows a briefing for firefighters on arrival in Nanaimo.
