Phillips Brewing has closed temporarily after one of its employee tested positive for COVID.

A Victoria brewery has closed temporarily due to the novel coronavirus.

Phillips Brewing says it has closed until Monday as a precaution after one of their retail workers tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee was last in the store on Thursday (Jan. 28) between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m., according to the brewery.

“Although we are not required to close as a result of this, we have decided to close our tasting room and beer store for the remainder of today, as well as tomorrow, to do a deep and thorough clean,” Phillips Brewing said in a statement posted on its website Saturday.

The brewery says Island Health has reviewed their situation and informed them that “recent guests need not be concerned due to our thorough COVID 19 plan and existing precautions.”

Phillips Brewing is located at 2010 Government St.
