Coroner investigating death after pedestrian struck on Old Island Highway in Colwood

The B.C. Coroners Service says they are investigating a death involving a female in her 70’s, following a pedestrian being struck in Colwood Friday.

West Shore RCMP responded to the Old Island Highway around 6:20 p.m. after a woman was hit by an SUV, she was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The 73-year-old was crossing the road in front of the Juan de Fuca Rec Centre.

The incident is under investigation and West Shore RCMP are asking on anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them at (250) 474-2264  or Crimstoppers.
