Police continue to search for a 33-year-old man in connection with a robbery and stabbing in Port Hardy on Friday night.

RCMP say that at about 10 p.m., they received a complaint from a 32-year-old man that he’d just been robbed of some liquor and stabbed.

He told officers he was around 6855 Market Street when he was attacked by two men.

The victim had a puncture wound in his torso above his left hip consistent with a knife puncture.

He was taken to the Port Hardy Hospital and later transferred to Campbell River.

His injury is considered non-life threatening.

A witness verified to police what had happened, confirmed the names of the suspects and provided descriptions.

Officers found one of them, a 38-year-old Port Hardy man who is known to police, soon after and placed him under arrest.

The second suspect, a 33-year-old Port Hardy man also known to police, had fled the scene and has still not been located.
