
A motorist in Oak Bay had their vehicle impounded after they were clocked going more than 80 km/h over the posted speed limit.
According to the Oak Bay Police Department, an officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the 2300-block of Cedar Hill Cross Road on May 13, when they noticed a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria travelling at an excessively high rate of speed.
Police say the officer’s radar showed the Crown Vic was going 134 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
Eventually, the officer pulled the vehicle over and issued the driver a ticket for excessive speed.
The motorist’s vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
