Nanaimo RCMP are looking for two suspects in connection to reports of stolen bikes reported at Vancouver Island University.

Police say there have been 5 reported bike thefts at V.I.U since last week and it is believed two white men, both in their early twenties, are responsible.

In each incident, the bikes were locked but bolt cutters or other tools were used to snap the chain lock.

Authorities say several bikes were registered with the 529Garage app.

They say while registering a bike will not prevent it being stolen, it does help police find it.

If anyone has information on the identity of either suspect you are asked to call Nanaimo RCMP.
