Nanaimo RCMP says a three-wheel bike that was reported stolen from a man with mobility challenges Tuesday was found Thursday morning.

The bike was reclaimed by its owner after being found near a Macdonald’s restaurant on Bowen Road around 8:30 a.m.

Police said the bike was stolen from outside the man’s home on Bowen Road and no serial number was available to police.

Const. Gary O’Brien of Nanaimo RCMP said the bike owner maintained a positive outlook even in the face of many personal hardships in recent years.

“Many of our officers have had the opportunity to meet him and are touched by his outlook and ability to face head on his daily struggles. He’s just a good guy who needs a break,” O’Brien said in a statement.
