Canada Post will not be delivering mail to southern Vancouver Island, Nanaimo, or the Gulf Islands due to the snow.

The mail service issued an alert citing the weather saying their mail carriers will not be sent out due to unsafe conditions.

The Lower Mainland, including Metro Vancouver, Powell River, and the Sunshine Coast also will have their service suspended for the day.

Yesterday, Nanaimo, Ladysmith, and Gabriola Islands had mail service suspended due to the conditions.

Canada Post says mail delivery will resume when it is deemed safe to do so.

On Thursday, it was also announced that recycling collection across the Capital Regional District would also be cancelled as a result of the weather.
