Thanks to a weak ridge of high-pressure building over B.C.’s south coast, Vancouver Islanders can enjoy some sunny breaks over the next few days.

Northern Vancouver Island will see a mix of sun and cloud Tuesday with a 40 per cent chance of showers, mainly cloudy skies Wednesday, then back to showers Thursday.

Central Vancouver Islanders will enjoy sunny breaks Tuesday, a clear sunny day Wednesday, and back to partly cloudy skies Thursday. Showers are expected to return Friday.

For Greater Victoria and southern sections of Vancouver Island, expect a 30 per cent chance of showers Tuesday, then clear skies Wednesday and Thursday. Showers are forecast Friday.

Temperatures will remain seasonal with highs from 9 to 12 C, overnight lows from 6 to 3 C.

Veronica Cooper takes a look at the next seven days.
