A Garry oak tree branch fell and blocked a road in Oak Bay Friday afternoon.
According to Oak Bay police, the branch came down near Newport Avenue and Transit Road at around 4:50 p.m.
Transit Road is closed to traffic right before Newport Avenue but Newport Avenue remains open. The Oak Bay Fire Department was at the scene to help with cleanup but have since left. An arborist remained to finish clearing the road.
There are no reports of any injuries or power outages. No homes were damaged but a vehicle received minor damage. Cable and TV services were impacted in the area.
